Restore the
Articles of Confederation Now!
The Articles of Confederation
was the first central government of the United States established by
our Patriot Founding Fathers following our independence from the
British Empire. It was the government of George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin etc. This decentralized form of limited
government where the citizens, states, and local government
jurisdictions were sovereign was far superior to the incompetent and
inefficient Washington monstrosity which rules over productive
working Americans today.

John C. Calhoun, former vice president of the
U.S., was born on this day (March 18) in 1782.
In his book For a New Liberty (p.
58)Murray Rothbard called Calhoun "One of
America's most brilliant political theorists"
who "wrote prophetically of the inherent
tendency of a State to break through the limits
of its written constitution." You are not
educated in American political theory and
history unless you have read Calhoun's
Disquisition on Government and his
Discourse on the Government and Constitution of
the United States. The Liberty Fund of
Indianapolis has published both of these works,
along with a dozen of Calhoun's speeches, in a
book entitled Union and Liberty. The
Essential Calhoun, edited by Clyde Wilson,
is also an excellent resource.
Here's an excerpt from Calhoun's Disquisition
on Government (pp. 25-27),originally published
in 1850:
"A written constitution certainly has many
and considerable advantages, but it is a great
mistake to suppose that the mere insertion of
provisions to restrict and limit the powers of
the government, without investing those for
whose protection they are inserted with the
means of enforcing their observance, will be
sufficient to prevent the major and dominant
party from abusing its powers. Being the party
in possession of the government, they will . . .
have no need of these restrictions . . ."
The minor or weaker party on the contrary, would
take the opposite direction and regard them as
essential to their protection against the
dominant party . . . . But where there are no
means by which they could compel the major party
to observe the restrictions, the only resort
left them would be a strict construction of the
constitution . . . . To this the major party
would propose a liberal construction -- one
which would give to the words of the grant the
broadest meaning of which they were susceptible.
It would then be construction against
construction -- the one to contract and the
other to enlarge the powers of the government to
the utmost. But of what possible avail could the
strict construction of the minor party be,
against the liberal interpretation of the major,
when the one would have all the powers of the
government to carry its construction into effect
and the other be deprived of all means of
enforcing its construction? In a contest so
unequal, the result would not be doubtful. The
party in favor of the restrictions would be
overpowered. The end of the contest would be the
subversion of the constitution . . . the
restrictions would ultimately be annulled and
the government be converted into one of
unlimited powers."
In addition to reading Calhoun, I recommend
ignoring the lies about Calhoun that have been
invented by Harry Jaffa and repeated by his
fellow "Straussians" over the years. On several
occassions I have asked Clyde Wilson, editor of
the 28 volumes of Calhoun's Collected Works,
about things the Straussians have said about
Calhoun and Clyde's response has been "I never
heard of that; it's untrue."
The Myth of
Pearl Harbor - This is a must read article about the history of
American wars and how presidents from Lincoln to Roosevelt
manipulated events in a treasonous way and millions of Americans
died for special economic interests. Of course, nothing like this
has been done by the Bush Administration!!!!
The “Death of the
American Empire” is simply the best, concise, short history of
America and of our horrific impact on the world stage and on what we
have lost as a nation since Lincoln’s War, that I have ever read in
my 57 years. Nothing can compare to this article in terms on
enlightenment, or sadness at the well hidden history and failure of
the greatest experiment in self-government and liberty in world
history.
For those of us who
seek truth, love history and who bear the burden of living in a
nation where false history, propaganda and unrighteous self-delusion
surround everything we read and observe involving politics, the news
and current events, Patrick Foy provides us a brief moment of sanity
and sincere honesty about what we really have become.
The first step on
the road to recovery from a tragedy whether a serious addiction, the
loss of a loved one or the sobering realization that we have made a
tragic mistake with terrible consequences is to see ourselves and
our actions as they really are. I can’t quarrel with a single point
in the article or the conclusions.
It is time that we
as Americans, take stock of our true situation, spread the word
about where we are and how we got here hopefully in time to preserve
our wealth and begin to restore our liberties so we can survive as a
people as the empire crashes down around us.
I’ve found that
when you realize that you’ve taken the wrong road, the best action
is often to backtrack to the last sure landmark that you can
remember. It is the same for our nation and I believe we should go
back to our original limited government, the Articles of
Confederation as established by our Patriot Founding Fathers.
I will today,
forward this article and URL to the thousands of people on the
e-mail lists from my websites and I urge you to do the same to all
of your friends who love liberty and seek to understand our real
history and restore the failed legacy of our Founding Fathers. In
addition, I’ll add a link to it in my new online book, “The Swiss
Preserve Solution” a new politically
incorrect guide to defending your wealth & liberty from attack
during the latter-days of the American Empire. More info on the free
book can be found at www.swissconfederationinstitute.org
The
Courage of Ron Paul - Lew Rockwell, Tom Woods and Jacob G.
Hornberger write about the lone GOP presidential candidate who
finally told the truth about Washington foreign policy.
Ron
Paul Comes In Second in SC Post Debate Poll -The leadership
of the GOP wants to keep Paul out of future debates and is trying to
do so. They can't allow a real American Patriot who actually
tells the truth, understands history, believes in the Constitution
and who wants to return to the original Republic of our Founding
Fathers to disrupt the GOP Circus. We like Paul, Romney and Thompson
but unless Hillary is caught in bed with another woman, or Bush
resigns or is impeached, the Republican Party doesn't have a prayer
in the 2008 election.
A word of warning to Congressman Ron
Paul - get some private guard protection. It is evident
that here in the United States, politicians and leaders in general
are free to say whatever they want (unless it starts to catch fire
with the public). Then if it appears a groundswell of opinion begins
to favor them or their views and this could even temporarily upset
the political status quo in America, then they are either privately
threatened or shot. Remember Martin Luther King, John Kennedy,
Robert Kennedy, George Wallace, the threat against Ross Perot's
children and many others. Watch Your Back Ron Paul and may God
watch over and protect you!
Switzerland
and the Gun - With a gun crime rate so low, records aren't
even kept they must be doing something right having a well armed
citizenry unlike in the United States. Also most Swiss politicians
go around undefended without constant police protection in contrast
to the armed bubbles of security in the US surrounding our political
elites but then again their politicians haven't destroyed their
liberties, sacrificed their soldiers around the world for an empire
abroad and a police state at home.
What Is Real States Rights - Watch
the latest video from the Donnie Kennedy for President Campaign and
be sure to show your support for Donnie on the presidential poll in
the left column.
Washington:
Making War Against Civilians Since 1861!
In a series of concise and compelling chapters, the story is told of
the Union’s “hard war” against the people of the Confederacy—one
that included the shelling and burning of cities, systematic
destruction of entire districts, mass arrests, forced expulsions,
wholesale plundering of personal property, and even murder.
Attention is given to the suffering of African-American victims of
Federal brutality. Carefully researched–largely from primary
sources–this is the first book-length survey of war crimes committed
by the the United States against Southern civilians.
Vermont Senate Votes To Impeach Bush & Chaney - I knew there
was something I like about Vermont other than the skiing, mountain
views, townhall style democracy, Tom Naylor and the 2nd Vermont
Republic.
More Devolution For Scotland
- We believe that the more regional and local
government powers and services are usually translates into better
and more restrained government both at home and abroad.
Secession: Vermont Style - The once and future republic of
Vermont. Here at DDN, we wish those in the beautiful state of
Vermont well in their efforts.
Let Kids Buy
Vodka - It is time to roll back the American police state
assault on liberty and civil liberties.
Gary North
on the Awful Democrats - They only oppose the Iraq War
because it is a failure and American defeat. Were they in power
rather than Bush, the identical special interests who also support
the Democrats would have made the same Washington Empire mistakes as
the GOP.
Free Granny Madelyn Dunham [Obama]! -
Here at Dixie Daily News, we have always
opposed racism of any kind including white and black racist actions.
It appears Obama is ashamed of his white grandmother.
Trying To Reclaim Sanity in Washington-
From the Sierra Times where Al Benson endorses the candidacy of
Walter D. Kennedy. It is a good read as always from Al.
The
Revolutionary Candidate For President - More on
Congressman Ron Paul's candidacy by Tom Woods, author of The
Politically Incorrect Guide to American History. Now if the question
was, the dumbest president in the history of the USA, then I would
have a nomination. Meet Ron Paul at FreedomFest scheduled
for July in Las Vegas.
Obama Suggests Nifong Be Invesigated For Dule Lacrosse Team Outrage
- We agree and believe Nifong is a lowly dirt bag political hack who
attempted to destroy the lives of innocent students in order to
advance his legal and political career. While we are on Democrats,
our thoughts and prayers go out to John and Elizabeth Edwards.
Slavery in the North -
The South has shouldered more than its fair share of guilt and
apologies over the evil economic institution of slavery. We are glad
to see this new website on slavery in the North. According to my
research, in early America, New York City followed Charleston as the
city with the largest number of slaves.
HK
Edgerton's Open Letter/
An End of an Era / The Accounting -
This is a "modern day" Southern
Heritage & History Defeat" on parallel with Lee at Appomattox but we
understand and support HK's decision. The lack of financial support,
the defeatist naysayers who attacked him and questioned his
integrity and actions at every turn while he impoverished himself
while defending Dixie while they ate, bitched and retreated sickened
me to such an extent that we have considered shutting down Dixie
Daily News for some time. This Southern Patriot and Gentleman walked
1,500 miles in a March Across Dixie, ran two vehicles into the
ground, had his home and most possessions destroyed in a hurricane
while people were content to usually send him a few dollars here and
there and think they had done their fair share in defending Dixie.
Ron Paul Announces Presidential Bid - He is speaking at the
upcoming FreedomFest Convention in Las Vegas. Between Ron Paul and
Donnie Kennedy, we can't go wrong.
Formation of Kennedy Presidential Exploratory Committee
Walter
D. (Donnie) Kennedy has announced the formation of a
Presidential Exploratory Committee for the purposes
of evaluating entering the Republican 2008
Primaries. Those who are dis-satisfied with the
growing crop of big government Republicans - now
have an alternative.
His announcement is
available as an audio file, streaming or down load
on his Exploratory web site:

Please send us
your expressions of support for the Donnie Kennedy For President
Campaign to
dixiedailynews@yahoo.com for publication. Here at Dixie Daily News we
like Libertarian/Republican Congressman Ron Paul, we respect Mitt
Romney except for his Iraq War policy but we endorse Donnie Kennedy because we know he is
right!
Congressman
Ron Paul Eyes GOP Presidential Nomination - We urge our thousands of
readers to also consider the candidacy of Ron Paul and review his
Presidential Exploratory Committee website at
http://www.ronpaul.org/ Send your
expressions of support to
mail@ronpaulexplore.com and mention you read about his candidacy on
Dixie Daily News but in the final analysis, in our hearts we know Donnie
Kennedy is
Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Atlas

Defending Dixie: Essays in Southern History
and Culture by Clyde N. Wilson
a selection from Dr. Clyde Wilson’s voluminous
writings about the South -past, present, and future—over a period of time
more than thirty years. The admiring view of Dixie presented here is rare at
the present day. Dr. Wilson writes from a belief that the South is a living
and long-lasting reality that continues to offer a valuable alternative
vision to Americans of the 21st century. More importantly, as he says of
Dixie, “there are plenty of good people who love her still.”

Make Plans To Attend
the Robert E. Lee Bicentennial Conference in Arlington, VA on April
28, 2007. Speakers will include Tom DiLorenzo, Don Livingston, Clyde
Wilson and others including hopefully Congressman Ron Paul, candidate for
the GOP Presidential nominee.
Freedom For Flanders- Belgium French - language TV showed
interrupted regular programming with an apparent news
report, announcing that Dutch-speaking Flanders had unilaterally declared
independence and that Belgium as a nation had ceased to exist. It showed
"live" pictures of cheering crowds holding the Flemish flag, huge traffic
jams leading to Brussels airport, and trams stuck at the new "border". I
wish they would do the same here and the situation would be real.
Neoconservatism
RIP - The flawed ideology has
failed and but it will not be dead until the proponents of this foreign
policy are expelled from the party. Bush isn't an evil person but his blind
acceptance of their control and advice has made Bush Administration's
foreign policy the third most detrimental to the United States following
Woodrow Wilson and Abraham Lincoln.
The
Vermont Secession Conference - The right of legitimate, democratic,
peaceful secession is the solution to most of the political problems in the
world today arising from big centralized government and corrupt politicians.
Lincoln
Unmasked - He was a
worse tyrant than you thought, says Thomas DiLorenzo.
The GOP,
RIP - Sad but true! A worthwhile read from Justin Raimondo. Yes the
leaders of the GOP have sacrificed conservatism and limited government when
they were taken over by the Neocon cabel in Washington and NY.
Bush's War Is Turning Southern Women Away From the GOP - One
GOP faithful compares Bush to Grant and we strongly disagree. Grant
although on the wrong side of Lincoln's War was a successful and
victorious general. We believe a better comparison of Bush and
his complete failure at foreign policy would be with Lincoln who
started an unnecessary war with 600,000 Americans paying the
ultimate price.
Charley
Reese: Vote All the Bums Out in 2006 - I find his

refreshingly honest and to the
point. Read this article and register to vote and vote against most
elected politicians of both parties with the exception of
Congressman Ron Paul.

The Final Presidential Executive Order
Posted On The Capitalism Magazine Forum -
Presidential Executive Orders allow the President to make
major decisions, even law, without the consent of Congress.
For example, Executive Order # 6102 prohibited the hoarding
of gold coins, gold bullion, and gold certificates & was
used by Roosevelt to confiscate gold in 1933. Another
terrorist attack could generate such a climate of fear,
panic and public emergency as to cause a political
over-reaction that could destroy many of our remaining
personal, financial, religious & educational freedoms.
Libertarianism: For And Against - An excellent book
review by George C. Leef that all of our libertarian readers and
most others who distrust the government should take the time to
read.
Click on the Book at the Left For
More Information - John Remington Graham, the author of a new
book "Blood Money, The Civil War and the Federal Reserve". He makes
the case how the divisive antagonisms between the North and South
were deliberately agitated by great international banking houses and
how they helped to promote Southern secession in order to set up a
huge financial empire on Wall Street
using public debt as the source of their wealth. Their planned
destruction of Southern political power at the end of the war
destroyed the power of the sovereign states and led to the birth
of the Federal Reserve in 1913.
